![]() ![]() I went to some pro tech's and they all said they would strip it and refinish it, but I didn't want to do that, because I love the original finish, I was surprised that after taking the white paint off it now smells old, like an old book store, so cool. The appeal and elegance of the Belgian Pierre Bleue are brought up-to-date in this ceramic collection by Ceramiche Refin, a series with an extremely. ![]() It does not have any checking aging (nor I would like it to have it), but the gold finish (now 25 years old) looks dull, old and very cool. If anyone saw a strat there at the time please let me know as I'd love to confirm the guitars history. The previous owner said my 52/57 conversion was supposedly refinished in the early 80s. The theory with the guitar's history is that it was brought over to vietnam by an american soldier during the war, made it's way down to Australia and now lives with me in New Zealand. ![]() My mate has an original 64 pickguard, pickups, pots, cap and switch with the solder untouched but I'm a bit scared to even ask him how much he wants for it. Need to find an original red dime capacitor for it though (been asking around all the old radio shops), as I only have a yellow dime CRL of. All of the parts appear to be original except for the pickguard, string tree and a professional refret with correct size vintage style wire. The body has been professionally refinished and the neck appears to have overspray over the original finish. The guitar body is from 1964 I think, came with grey bottom pickups and 64 dates on the pots, although this didn't come with the body when I purchased it, I'm putting in 63 pots and 63 3 way with the three patent numbers on it. This is a fantastic Fender Telecaster, made in the USA in 1954. Not sure how I will get the paint out of the divots yet, pick it out or make a pool in the paint and use a tiny bit of acetone anyone have any idea's? If you'd like to see additional photos, please let me know what specifically you are looking for an I'll get them over to you.Click to expand.Yeah just sanding through different grades getting finer and finer as I get near the original finish. Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. Please review all of the photos closely as they are an integral part of the description. The finish is also slightly chipped at the heal of the neck were it meets the body on the treble. It was stuck on pretty tight and ended up cracking the finish down each side of the neck at the nut. Nut was replaced shortly after the refinish was done. I'm not exactly sure how they got there and never noticed them prior to taking these photos. Bridge pickup is factory and the bridge is Hipshot branded.įinish looks great but but in the right light you can see indentions in the top of the body around the pickup surround. Bridge pickup, nut, and bridge are replacements. Grover tuners, toaster neck pickup, horseshoe cover, wiring harness, strap buttons, and case are original. I can vouch that it was tastefully done, the bass sound fantastic and plays well. He had the bass refinished a number of years ago in a vintage white or cream. I obtained this bass through a trade from the original owner for a project that has ended. ![]()
